~Pendle Hill~
6th October 2010
Another view of Pendle Hill, the first in October.
The Top
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
The West
It's 17:10 and one hour before sunset, this was a straight-after-work walk.
The Procession
All this lot were ahead of me on the steps. Paths get widened by folk who avoid them in this way.
The East
The conditions were generally overcast, but the sunrays found a way through the clouds to illuminate Barley and the reservoirs.
The Plateau
Looking back towards the stile at the top of the steps.
The Summit
Everyone else has cleared off. I decided to do something new and descend directly down the front of the Hill. Part way down is this man-made feature with a grand vista. The slope is as steep as it looks.
